Cordyceps, Caterpillar Fungus
The Cordyceps or Chinese caterpillar fungus probably originates from tibet, where it grows at up to 5000 m. Tibetian yak herders found out that those animals who regularly ate this mushroom were particularly resistant and robust. Due to the demand in Southeast Asia, its price is extremely high, at up to US $ 3000 per kg.For many years scientists sought methods of cultivating this fungus, as its natural dissemination is no longer sufficient for the global demand. Fortunately, the mycelium (the 'root weave' of the fungus)- which has the same contents as the fruit body- can now be grown in farms. For our products we use the CS-4 strain , which is known for its high amount of effective ingredients.
The caterpillar fungus contains vitamins, trace elements, essential amino acids and high quality polysaccharides. Cordyceps can help to rebalance the body after strenous physical exercise, supporting the cellular energy supply. It also promotes vitality and a healthy libido. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is a popular tonic and aphrodisiac.
